Hello!
One clue to solve in Irish Times Brain Teaser 2009:
Riddle:" The ultimate lawmaker and a largely uninformed lovemaker from a regal place in the midlands. Clue: nickname".

Hi Cath,

I don't know whether this will help but my immediate reaction when I saw 'regal place in the Midlands' is, to give it its full title, Royal Leamington Spa.

Best wishes,

I immediately thought of Rowley Regis! Rowley was, I believe, the nickname of King Charles II. Not sure if that helps!

Thank you both, but I suspect that, as the clue is in the Irish Times, the regal place may be in the midlands of Ireland! Laois would have been a royal seat of old. 'Will have to do a bit more research.
However, if I don't get a brainwave, I'll try Rowley!!

Answer is Brian Cowen!

Anyone know the link between the following pairs: John & Edward Grimes; Jennifer Aniston & Ben Affleck; Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie?
Is it nicknames formed from their joint names?
