19d. What a strange clue. ~ (tilde) inside a circle with a line protruding either side usually means AC voltage source or signal source. So "electron" may fit.
Good luck!

So what is the clue for 19 d?

Is it "e??????n"

Or is it "there is a rising squiggle which drops to starting level at the end"

There is a thing in NZ where a squigly line called the worm is used to guage peoples feelings in election debates.

3d - Train of thought? Train for an event? Strange clue, maybe the double clue indicates a train chugging down the track?

Good question Teff7.
I took it as "e??????n"~
We also have "the worm" in Oz. Which supposedly tells us what others are thinking.
Do you have any other thoughts on 19d.?
G'day from over the ditch.

Kia ora bro!

The clue is as strange as it sounds - I found a picture of it:

I have no Idea, very strange, the line could be a scientific or mathmatical term within the letters that as a whole describes the picture???

I saw a clue once that was just '?' Letters 1-4-4-1-4

This makes me thnk of that
