Mornin' all.

Determinded to cook egg over on midpoint of griddle = dogged. I can see the reversed egg and the D from griddle but that still leaves DO...

Misfortune? Hardly. = ill.

And two I can't get (so may need explanation as well):

Tombstone's tube station (8) -O-R-E--
Invest in old castle and new hotel (6) -L---E

Many thanks

dogged: ome of the many meanings that Chambers Dictionary gives for "do" is "cook"
Invest, etc, is clothe. C for castle, and anagram of hotel. Clothe can also mean to invest.

Hi Pooks
On the tombstone one is the R definite as the answer looks to be MONUMENT

Thanks all. To clothe is to invest? What a weird language we have. I'm regretting throwing the puzzle away now as I can't remember what the 'aura' clue was and what I had for it...
