waitperson? I can see the def. (diner at the end tips one), but no idea on wordplay.

If 'waitperson' is an American word for 'waiter', perhaps the 'wordplay' is that a person from Washington DC who went on a junket might end up tipping one (waiter)...?

Thanks guys for waitperson. Checked it in Websters since no heard it before. Definitely American word play
