I think you are right.
Extra (ad)dition. You take the AD out because Bill= AD. Bill in the sense of Advertising Poster (Bill stickers will be prosecuted,sort of thing).

As usual Terry makes more sense, I was thinking of Billboard, not bill poster(who is Bill Stickers and was he ever prosecuted?)

You do yourself down. You are more right than I,if I can put it that way. Billboard/Advertising Billard,sums it up pretty well.
Stickers are what kerbside fairies and other ladies of a horizontal disposition put up in phone boxes.
