btw the scientific name of the hobby is Falco subbuteo - hence the name of the table football "hobby".

Buteo is the buzzard.

sounds like stix, S(small) ti (sounds like tie/connection, x (unknown).

Incidently, the blokes who invented Subbuteo wanted to call it Hobby, but weren't allowed to by the trademark register people. So they said OK, can we call it Subbuteo.
