What could be seen as making fair place for horse racing - AINTREE (Race Course)

Cease to be receiving singer with new noise on the line from America - DIAL TONE - Why America?

Bivalve filled with a mostly very dry seafood - CALAMARI (Seafood)

Building near home is not acceptable to family - OUTHOUSE (Building near home)

Public relations evening of poetry and food that may be prohibited - PREVENTABLE - I can see PR and TABLE but why 'Poetry'?

Do you normally call a dial tone something else over there? It goes by no other name here in the US.

Hi Aristophanes, many thanks. with regards the 'Dial Tone' clue - I've never heard it called anything but that, which is why I don't get the 'In America' part of the clue.
