Sorry and thanks. However, the absence of the letters didn't prevent you from answering; maybe you were just trying to be superior

It is etiquette, and polite, to give the letter count, as not everyone has the crossword but they like to help. Without the letter count, there are just too many alternative answers.

Superior?? was that meant to be funny??


I was able to answer because I had completed the puzzle, no other reason.

I don't think cheater realized how helpful mamya & jazzgirl are to everyone . They were just pointing out what is polite & helpful cheater!

It's lovely of anyone to help you out. It's equally kind if they advise you as to how to recieve better responses later.

The appropriate response is "thank you". Calling them superior strikes me as a touch rude.

But all the lovely people who are appreciative more than make up for the odd snippy comment.
