Sure this is obvious.... but I just can't get 13a - China from Japan is reached as marauders invade primarily from the east. I-A-I. Irami ....? Nothing for that comes up on Google that's relevant.

Irami is a type of China and reversed in the clue from the first letters of invade marauders as reached is

It's Imari - china. It's in the clue backwards...
Is Reached As Marauders Invade.

Yeah ... thanks everyone. Mis-types apart(!) I can now see that it's in the clue not once, but twice twice. Initial letters of "is reached as marauders invade" give IRAMI; and so does "prIMARIly" if read "from the east" (i.e. from the rh side of the word). Clever stuff .... but, for all that, none of my dictionaries contains the word!

Duckb, just in case you ever have a similar clue in the future - the 'irami' stuff is...no use, that word was just a misprint. Imari is the answer, it's a type of pottery/china .
