This one's really got me confused! I think either the puzzle maker or I (more likely) have made a mistake!

10ac: "Extreme anxiety" ?A?T?E?S

13ac: "Sully; narrow gorge" ?E?I?E (I thought 'defile' would fit for sully but not gorge. And 'ravine' for gorge but not sully (according to my dictionaries) and the a in ravine doesn't fit with the 2dn, which is 'ediface', hence the final e would go where the a goes in ravine.

19ac "criminal underworld" G?N?L?N? The g?n might be 'gun' but can't get the rest of it.

Thanks.

Have never heard of 'ediface' - are you sure it isn't 'edifice' ?

Thanks everyone! Yes, I had misspelled 'edifice' and had not been able to find the definition of defile for narrow gorge. I must find some new dictionaries!!!!
