Not sure on two:

17 A. Neither one has got to retiring age(4) I?O?
Would think it is iron but do not see the logic.

12A. A fast frozen vegetable?(6)R?N?E?
Would think it is runner as in runner bean but seems slightly remote.

Any suggestions welcome

Neither - nor - one - I "has got to retiring"- reversed- Iron, which is an "age" like "stone age" etc?

17a. IRON (age).

I (one) + RON (NOR/neither retiring).

Thanks for the replies. Convinced on 17 across but still have reservations about 12 across.
