NB. The preamble says some clues 'contain one word superfluous to solving'.All the other clues lead to words that 'must be treated accordingly before entry'. (accordingly refers to a quotation given by the initials of the superfluous words).

Jolan I've never yet posted a response but I love your 5 on a Tuesday, I'm relatively new (not according to my Birth Certificate) to the Forum.

Thank you very much Ginge. I tentatively started "5" some years ago (time really IS relative, when one reaches more that the four-score and ten). I was a bit scared because of the very high quality and expertise of the folk on The Forum. Hope you'll join in with pre-comments and answers at 5.
