40A: "Bob bought this piece of jewellery for sea-faring couple (4-4)". I have "_O_E-_I_G". Can only guess at "NOSE-RING", but can see absolutely no linkage to "Bob bought" or "seafaring couple". Help with both answer and cryptic explanation much appreciated!

I think the owl and the pussy cat bought a ring from the pig for a shilling when they went to sea.

If it's 'Nose Ring' from the Owl and the Pussycat - what is the relevance of 'Bob'? and If it's 'Hope Ring' from 'Bob Hope - what is relevance of 'Seafaring Couple'?
