Got the answer from other letters I had:
Q. Criticised for being absorbed, so we hear (6)
A. RAPPED
I can just about see criticised = rapped (although it's only used as far as I know preceding "...on the knuckles" or some such. I have no idea what the rest of the clue means, anyone help?
