Leapy-Another word for actor less Scottish name +synonym for study+ famous comic=answer

I put 'the spread dandy' for tis but couldn't find any confirmation that this might be the correct answer...

I worked it out thus: Thesp(Ian) read (study) Dandy (as in Dandy and Beano, children's comics).
Can anyone confirm or correct this?
