Please help. have the person quoted but an very stuck on lots ofr clues. especially14and16a which i think iI have the answerto but theyd ont f it in with 1down. and what is22d about. Thank U

Hi Mary, I think your keyboard is sticking! If you have entered any across clues at all you must have gathered at least one of the two ways in which entries must be modified. The two clues that you quote 14a and 16a are in fact one of each - they both need something removing before entry, a letter in one case and a word in the other. 22d is a Spoonerism meaning the wordplay will lead to the answer with the first letters switched, so if the entry was 'maypole' the wordplay might lead to 'pay mole'. I deliberately haven't given the answers but say so if you want them.

TYou N no its me not keyboard thats daft. I h ave answers to 14a nd 16a but th ey dont fit with 1d which i'm sure is right.

Well 16a for example is COBBLERS but you have to remove COB and BLERS fits with my 1d!
