Help please with:

18a: Definition thus ends in "cross" - does it? (10) - have t?a?s?e?s? (is it transverse ?)

25a: Model put on outfit the wrong way, underclothes essentially on the outside? (5,4) - have c?v?r?i?l (is it cover girl? it contains rig =outfit the wrong way.

i can see ' Definition thus ends' gives n and s. ns inside traverse gives transverse but a bit vague for a definition.

...although transverse does mean cross/lay across, whatever, i guess the whole clue is the definition (an &lit clue?).

It's almost like a double def: traverse and transverse with the n&s. However, unlike a double def there's just the one answer!

put on - over??
outfit the wrong way - gir
underclothes essentially - under[cl]othes - heart/middle of the word, CL on the outside?
don't like it much if i'm right although it conjures up images for me.

I like it Trevor. I think 'put' is the connective with 'on' being 'over'. Thanks Roger
