it is in the 12th edition, but it's in under "overcrow": -

17a former triumph over, cower wretchedly in tangle 8

Hi OV, you asked elsewhere what 'orecchie ' means.
Its the plural of 'orecchio' [Italian] meaning,

orecchio m (plural orecchie)

hearing
An ear for music (particular sensibility)
An ear-shaped thing

Can't see any connection myself.

Thanks shoooty, that was a help. No answer on the other site! posted Azed (Sun 12th ) with orecrowe in 17a in the end. Felt more confident after reading this thread -- thanks again Olim V.
