Although I've got answers to all the clues, and am congratulating myself on finishing reasonably quickly, I can't parse 1 down - 'Moon shock: cheese, on the far side' (4). I've got M - P -. 'Mope' = 'moon', but where does the cheese come in? I know that the moon is made of green cheese, and that any 4-letter word beginning with 'm' relating to cheese is 'edam' reversed, but these vital snippets don't help!
Could someone, again, extend the hand of friendship?

parksey. Many thanks. I don't think I would have got that in a month of Sundays, let alone just this Sunday.
I can now look at the 'Private Eye' puzzle, which will probably prove even more tricky, so I may turn to you again! Cheers, g.i.
