Quite good this week, although I wish the RT compiler would stop using "loud" to mean "sounds like". I always try to use "F" in those places and then realise my mistake. This week 7A was:

Loud detector by vessel is for vetting (10)

A much better version would be:

Detector heard by vessel is for vetting (10)

A couple of fun clues as usual. This week's best one was:

24A Settlement where pundit's mac is removed? (6,4)

The ferry stayed in Ardrossan overnight and we got both post and papers this morning. However, the forecast of gales for the next 24 hours probably means that we won't be so lucky tomorrow.

Hi John,
Today's D.Ex says that an hour of crosswords burns off 90 calories.Good for slimming. I cannot make sense (amongst others) of 11 A about the French doctor dancing. Help?

Ok I'll break it up for you:

The French ... doctor about ... to have a ... dance (6)

... and it's not a human doctor.
