Need some help parsing these..

20 went off carrying rum drink that's hot - TODDY (Hot drink) 20 is 'Niece'

Siblings in south-west Asia with no adult - NEAREST I saw the earlier post but still don't see why'South West Asia' equates to Near (the) E(a)st.

It's nothing to do with the answer to 20.

Look at an atlas and try to work out what would be the extreme west of Asia, then look at the southernmost part of that - where are you?

I should have added that the "Near East" is (from our western perspective) farther west than the "Middle East" of Iraq, Iran etc.
