I remember that some of you were interested in the cuckoo migration last year. They are on their way home, although several have perished in the meantime (including Lyster, one of the only two to return last year).

I've checked my diary for 2011 and I wrote on 1st May that I'd heard the first cuckoo. A few of us were discussing it on the RT thread that day. I can't find 2012 at the mo.

You're welcome. I thought it was you who reported hearing one last year.

I used to hear the cuckoo often when in Cambridge but I don't remember ever hearing it here in Dorset!

When I lived in Dorset, we used to hear it in May, but that was way back in the 60's

We heard them on Dartmoor last year. They were in a small copse.

Heard my first cuckoo of the year this morning around 08.00 . It was coming from the direction of the nearby heath. It wasn't Chris, David, or Lloyd though ;)
