Even with the helpful clues I still can't get 5 d. - - e season.
Also if 1 a is exactly (and I can't explain all the clue if it is) what is 4 d? Y - o - e. under surface of compost dig deeply for aromatic bud
Also 16 d. Treat foot breaking three times getting old. (6,2). I can't rely on any letters as I'm having a nightmare with is crossword!!

1a isn't exactly.
The three "times" in 16d are all Ts, I think.









5d is PRE-SEASON
