Ok. I've been doing this puzzle for the best part of the whole day (save a break to bake a cake) and I'm utterly stuck on the last three.

27ac Take turns to restrict entrance (9)
I have: S-T-L---D

20dn Dog's foot a state — iodine applied (7)
I have: C-S----

25ac Agreed to drop odds, when they're lined up (8)
I have: E-S---E-

I have counted 11 of the 12 themed requirements, so only one of the clues (I think) requires the theme.

All help much appreciated.

Hi neko
I've been looking at it off and on and not making progress too. I haven't got any of the ones you ask for, but I can give one tiny bit of help. I originally had T for the 3rd letter in 27ac, but I think E is actually correct.

Hi Chris
I've been pondering this too It definitely IS an "E" (I don't have the paper). Must now look at the changed letters you give.

Chris, of course. Thank you for that. I see now where I went wrong on 18dn. Will try again! Good luck.

Hi jolan
Yes - I have an answer for 27 now, though I don't understand it.

The first letter I have for 25 is A

Hi, you 3! Maybe I can help a little:
27: the complete word is the passive participle of a verb synonymous with "entrance", but emphasized on the 2nd syllable!
20: the complete word is a race of dog beginning with B & ending in I (Inever had a dog, but always fancied this kind as a kid -- pretty rare I think)!
25: a simple word meaning "lined up", the 1st 5 letters of which form the last themed thing you're looking for!
OK?

The first part (5) to relieve someone on watch (eg); the second bit (4) tie up. The whole word ' to entrance'
