Any help appreciated with these two clues -
13D Harry Potter aids regularly: he knew secret of philosopher's stone (5)
25D Agreed to last of the seats 18 back from front? Tipped up (5)
I don't know if it's relevant but 18's answer is ERSE which converts to ERGO.
Thanks very much.

I think 13D is ADEPT and 25D is SWORE and they swop ends to become ADORE and SWEPT, but I can't readily explain SWORE? Where does the SE of ERSE go to?

SWORE has nothing to do with ERSE. Look at its first 4 letters in reverse.

No I see that ERSE goes with MANGO. I said that SWORE went with ADEPT but presumably that's wrong??

No, SWORE and ADEPT do go together - I was referring to the wordplay for SWORE, which is E (last of THE) + ROW S, reversed.

I now have 6 ofthe 8 pairs but am still struggling with the bottom right-hand corner. Any hints about 32D, say, would be appreciated.

43A - think of a word for "dogs" and take out the middle letter - once reversed it gives you a word meaning "fume". This gves a clash with 21D. The last 2 letters of 43A swap with the last two letters of 4A - a very significant word appears!
