Another quickie, but very clever and enjoyable. Thanks, Syzzie.
I don't quite get the wordplay in 17d; everything else is clear.

Aristo: Presumably you are as far as I am on 17d, namely
sole of shoe: OE

Is the resultant "one" to be explained as "sole"?
If so, dual-purpose clue word.

That's exactly what I thought: that "sole" was doing double duty. I just don't think it's kosher.

The puzzle was easy in the south, but took a while up top.
Agree about 17D. Also, not clear on wordplay for last half of 28A.
7D, obvious from clue but never heard of it, or saw it. US TV. Ptui.

The "Reply" function is nice, but Bold & Italic obviously don't work.
