Another quickie, but very clever and enjoyable. Thanks, Syzzie.
I don't quite get the wordplay in 17d; everything else is clear.

Aristo: Presumably you are as far as I am on 17d, namely
sole of shoe: OE
pole:N
Is the resultant "one" to be explained as "sole"?
If so, dual-purpose clue word.
Sorry, can't help otherwise -- and tried much earlier, only to be blocked by "work in progress".
Some nice witty sentences nevertheless, n'est-ce pas?!

That's exactly what I thought: that "sole" was doing double duty. I just don't think it's kosher.

And yes, I really liked all of them, but especially f.

Re 17D... bit clunky, but is it meant to be sole O(fsho)E?

Ixion: I managed to u'stand your (novel) interpretation even on this weird new set-up! Surely that's an achievement in itself! And of course I'm sure you're right! Wow! Communication! Worth a champagne breakfast!

Hi, all.

Yes, the new format needs a few tweaks, but it looks slick.
An HTML test, while I'm at it:
bold
italic
underline
link for 7D:

The puzzle was easy in the south, but took a while up top.
Agree about 17D. Also, not clear on wordplay for last half of 28A.
7D, obvious from clue but never heard of it, or saw it. US TV. Ptui.

The "Reply" function is nice, but Bold & Italic obviously don't work.
