I know it's a bit late, but can anyone help with this one:
16d Fail to tour resort with flag run down
I have D?S?A?A?E which makes me think DISPARATE or DISPARAGE but cannot understand why.

SPA could be the resort, and DISPARAGE is "rund down", but I don't see DIRAGE!

DIE = fail
SPA = resort
RAG = flag
run down = DISPARAGE

Many thanks Chrise and Bullfrog - I would never have seen that (couldn't even see SPA for resort). Can now safely use the newspaper for lighting the fire.

Very good, bullfrog, but isn't rag=flag a bit obscure?

Chambers gives flag as a definition of rag.

Why so it does rusty (sorry - I checked). I've never heard that usage before.
