CLUELESS 96

It falls to me to set CLUELESS this week on behalf of emrach. Rosiland has very kindly lent me her Miss Moneypenny outfit, pencil skirt, seamed stockings and all. Thanks to my boyish physique I haven't stretched them TOO much, but the stilettos are playing havoc with my ankles.[/i}

Welcome to Clueless, our informal weekly clue-setting competition.

The idea is to compose a cryptic clue to a given word or phrase.

The winner of the previous week’s competition both sets the word/phrase to be clued and judges the entries for the current week.

The judge’s decision is final; reasons may or may not be given at the judge’s discretion. It is customary for the judge to donate a virtual prize to the winner.

To be fair to others, please do not make any comments on entries until after the winner has been declared.

In an ARBITRARY RULE CHANGE multiple entries may NOT be submitted (although corrections to a a previous clue are OK if necessary)

Please feel free to give an explanation of your clue.

The answer to be clued is: BAGATELLE (9)

Clues to be submitted by 16.30 tomorrow (Wednesday 23rd January) and the winner will be announced soon after.

Good luck!
