71. Scott Joplin's rag time two-step for the host (3,12)

I thought of "The Entertainer" but discovered that has only 3 and 11 letters, so doesn't fit.

Help please

Hate to be picky but it's got 13 letters....Chr ysa nth emu m.
Perhaps just a miscount by the setter as the entertainer fits "the host" sense so well?

Gosh, love Scott Joplin. The Entertainer won't get out of my head now for while! When we had a piano (rather than the Hammond organ which replaced it) my husband used to play all kinds of music and Joplin was one of the few not provoking bangings on the wall from neighbours!

I also love Scott Joplin. I have just brought down the music from the "den" and no other title fits the number of letters. I am inspired to play some later.

Brilliant, and how good that you can play it, jazzgirl. Can't play anything except a CD player and not that always.
Does anyone else find it amusing that people tend to quote "If music be the food of love, play on" as if it's a good thing, when actually the speaker wants his appetite to "sicken and so die" ??

Ros, my playing needs the listener to wear earplugs! I used to be able to play Black and white rag at the same speed as Winnie, but now at only quarter the speed and not that well, sadly.

Don't believe the earplugs, jazzgirl.
