mountainous = hilly
going out = sallies
St Helena = SH

I had to break it down after I had got it. Was a bit of a stinker today. Two or three had me puzzled and the (WHOLE)parse for 4d still has me confused.

I had shilly sallied for 8 down
4down I had ubiquity
26 across becomes hypersensitive

I also have the same. went with 'shallies' as its the present tense of 'going out' instead of the past tense.

I also have 'ubiquity'
I see U(posh) + I quit. But where does 'BY' come into it ?

By = times (as in multiply)

Thanks for extra info', but don't see how 'U' is POSH,. Also, I'm stuck on 1D Bear that harrassed royal in an astonishing way, I've got -R---H---I-G-Y.
