I was determined not to ask for help but I can study 23 across and 25 down for a week and I won't get them. Woking? Lowick? Knurl?
Help, please.

Difficult without any clues
Julia
Oh, sorry, Mamya. I always assumed you were doing the same crosswords. 23a Clue is "grain mistake" and the answer is a place UK place name with a non-literal pronunciation. Are you with me?
I have -o-i--. The last letter will be the first of 25d "Spades thin out row" --u-l
Mamya
25d looks like scull

will keep thinking on the other

I'm an idiot. I've given you the wrong clue. Ruislip was the answer to the one I've just given.

The one I need is "Sun dismissed lies from politicians" -0-I- - and the answer is a place name as previously stated. If "scull" is correct it would be - O - I - S.

Have seen
(S)Tories offerred but cannot find a placename to fit even just with the sound of that, sorry
julia
The only place name I can find is a place called Boriss but can't even begin to work that out. (S)Tories certainly fits the basic clue if it were not for the place name.
Thank anyway, Mamya
Chota dho
Stories House lies at map reference x(393500) y(448500), not far from Skipton
JULIA
How on earth do you know that? That is seriously impressive. Thank you so much.
