As last week, I have finished the crossword but there is one clue where I am certain I have the correct answer but cannot fully equate the clue to the solution.

The clue is 37 Down :-

Derbyshire villagers may get this smart (4-7)

I have W?L? D?E?S?D

The solution must be WELL DRESSED

I get the "smart" bit of the clue but how does "Darbyshire villagers may get this" fit in ?

Do Derbyshire villagers dress their wells ?
