Done this, but can't explain 10A: "Detective arrests gangster: 4 PM." C*L*A*H*N. Must be "Callaghan" (=PM). Detective could be Callan, or (Charlie)Chan. Can anybody enlighten me?

That's how I worked it - Chan = detective, gangster = al, 4= lag from 4 D, Prisoner.
