Hi all,

I've gor 4 clues left to do in our local Christmas quiz and I'm stuck. Can anyone help with answers or hints?

All answers are on a nautical or ship-related theme.

1. Vessel from Jerez (8)
2. Goalkeeper all at sea (6)
3. Hewer (7)
4. Fly boys here (6)

I also have one with two possible answers that I'm unsure of:

5. Pay attention (7). I initially though 'Lookout' but now reckon 'Monitor' (a tyep of iron-clad ship is better. Any thought?

Cheers folks - happy new year to all and any help gratefully received.

Thanks Rossim. I had that answer as an idea but dismissed it because 'Sea' was in the clue.

Another answer I'd considered was 'tender' as a goalie in ice-hockey is called a goaltender but I'm not convinced by that either!

Any thoughts?

Cheers

That's why I put the question mark. Tender sounds reasonable too. Sorry, I can't think of anything else at the moment.

Jack Stern is a goalie but only has 5 letters.
A goalie is a deFENDER.
My son suggested Bradley Orr but he is not a goalkeeper! Made me laugh anyway.
