Wrong = x, as in a wrong answer, evil is sin, with PH for public house. Sphinx.
The Sphinx strangled travellers who could not answer her riddles. So, Sphinx was the setter.

A party is a DO
Beaten in (tennis) court is ACED, coming back is DECA
Anagram od heard ("surprisingly") is HEDRA
Altogether gives DODECAHEDRA (= solid figures)

Wrong is X
Evil is SIN
Pub is PH on an Ordnance Survey map (Public House)
Put PH inside (= feeding) SIN with X to support gives SPHINX
