Hi Guys

Just one left this week...
Mixed up home to JR and his clan. (5,5)
_A_H_ E_ING thought second word should be Ewing.

Many thanks ahead.

You'd expect the answer to be "ranch ewing". ewing ranch mixed up.

Hi Terry

That's what I thought originally but the H is in the wrong place. The downward clue is: Absolutely unambiguous (8) so I put Outright (fits with all other clues going across).

Thanks for trying - I think this clue is stumping quite a few.

Hi Cazzy! How about DACHA EWING? Fits all your letters but I've no idea at all as to how it might fit the clue. Probably doesn't!

Thanks for trying Jolan.

Dacha Ewing is very mixed - Russian and American. Can't wait to see what the answer really is.

Just to add to the confusion, 26d is being suggested elsewhere as PUNT (Bet in old money) which looks right to me. That seems to give
- n - h - / e- i - g

Kathy mixed things up for Bobby, but they didn't marry, I don't think.
Or JR's wife, Cally, but outright seems watertight.

My money's on Kathy Ewing for now. Just been thru this on Answer Bank. I'm online via mobile phone and Wikipedia's Dallas page is nightmarishly huge! Yeeee-haaa!

Many thanks for trying Bullfrog / Ade

I tend to agree with Bullfrog that Punt would make more sense than Play, therefore the answer must be a proper noun as there are no dictionary words that fit _ n _ h _.

I've looked into every possibility now and will just have to wait for the answer, patiently, in a fortnight's time.

As an aside did you know an anagram for DESPERATION is A ROPE ENDS IT !!

Luckily I'm not that desperate. :)

Thanks again for all your efforts.

Now I've seen the answer on another board...

If the amount of letters are 2, 3, 5 instead of 5,5 as printed in could be In The E-Wing.

Would make sense so I think I would go with that.

Thanks everyone for your help.
