11 across, 9 letters : 'Devise minute pun about a flower'

I had N-P-U-I-M

It can only be neptunium, ie.anagram of minute pun, but I can't see what this has to do with a flower - apart from petunia, which wouldn't fit.

Any ideas?

Neptunia is a genus of flowers, so theoretically neptunium could mean - of or about the genus Neptunia... but I'm struggling to find that actual use of the word.

It's like Mercury and 'Flows' so is a flowing element. A Flower

Sorry, I mean it 'flows' like a liquid as Mercury also does

So it does les40! Well done.

I sometimes do this crossword and that seems quite tough for an average Crusader.

I agree Gok, I used to do this crossword also and it does seem a harder than average Crusader type clue

I don't understand - the m.pt. is given as 640 degrees C - it's a solid at room temperature, then.

Is it not the temp it is used at for nuclear reaction when it does flow like a liquid? what do you think?

Hi Les
I'm a bit rusty on this, but I think I remember that Neptunium has a very short half-life, and its decay gives Plutonium - the latter is used in reactors.
