Slight misprint in the preamble, as 24 of the 48 clues need you to omit certain letters. Therefore 24 clues are perfectly normal.

I've not finished yet, but ma and pa are missing from the 24 altered clues.

Yep 1a) has a missing pa. Palladium, is what I've gone for.

I'm nowhere near finished, but have got the gist. It's taking me forever!
