Is anyone willing to offer any hints on the following questions please?

42. Angling at sea, caught nothing, but held one's nerves (8)

47. Maybe a monarch or admiral in Orleans (8) I was thinking perhaps the French word for butterfly which is also a dog but if they wanted to direct you to France, Orleans is a bit obscure.

35. Average dog product led astray and found by the water (8.6)

They often do that - in fact there has been a rash of "Nancy" indicating FRench recently, so I think PAPILLON is OK

I don't see anything for 35 - might it be a waterside plant, perhaps?

btw what's the significance of "It's raining"? Do all the answers include a cat or a dog?
(The two I've seen do.)

That's right chrise, 50 of one and 5l of the other as one answer contains both a cat and dog. They might be breeds, cartoon animals, cat being part of a word and so on. A real mixture. If I'm right, my last ones are dogs.

Hi lady bee!! For 35 think of standard as another word for average and the dog product should be picked up by responsible owners.!!!!
I wonder if you could help me with 39. Bling formed all I once held dear (9). I am really hoping it will be cat based -- if not, I am really up a gum tree. !!!
