Thanks Chris - that's so obvious now! Unfortunately this crossword is a strange (and difficult!) one where the answers change direction and that means I've got no definite letters to give you in the other two.

I have following clues unsolved: 16,13,20 and 21 plus another half dozen.Not confident of completing this one and 4218 out tomorrow!

I have 20(2) as BRAINWASH i.e SAWN back in anagram of B(black)HAIR. Also stuck on the others plus a few more.
