Aristo - personal favourite: "I turned to Aunt Agatha, whose demeanour was now rather like that of one who, picking daisies on the railway, has just caught the down express in the small of the back."

I am a bit rusty on Plum, but wasn't Aunt Dahlia the aunt that Bertie got on with (not finishing the post with a conjunction).

She did indeed for the most part, ChrisE but let rip at him frequently, with "blister" being part of her armoury. Aunt Agatha would never have used such a term.

Too funny, AB. I love Wodehouse; in fact I often read him while hiding behind the sofa, a position I find myself in rather oftener than I could wish.

Congrats jws.
Don't understand the winning clue at all, or the comments about it!
Happy Birthday GK. I don't know enough about you to make you a suitable cake but whatever it is, it contains return tickets for the journey to New Zealand (?)- one of my most favourite places- to go and see your grandchildren
