Really stuck on my last two so any help appreciated. Only including the characters I'm absoluetly sure of, just in case.

Stiffen fossil resin taken from old court (4,7)

I want the first one to be ELL, but I can't quite parse it.

ell is in real ale - but it isn't the odd letters

Fossil resin is AMBER, but I can't work it in

rEaL Ale.

you only keep the even letters of real ale

I.e. take the odd characters away, leaving the evens

Take 2! rEaL aLe.
