Sorry Cathie,

I am doubting myself now. The rationale for my suggested answer is that MEADIA is the plural of MEDIUM which is a term used in painting and drawing and which the dictionary identifies as
Fine Arts. a. Painting. a liquid with which pigments are mixed.
b. the material or technique with which an artist works: the medium of watercolour.

Unless someone can come up with anything better.

22D Common remark (9) A?A?I?U?E AMARITUDE is the only word i can find that fits but that means bitterness so that cant be right. i am sure all the intersecting letters are correct.

Thanks Cathie. The A i had for the first letter came from LATITUDE which i had as the answer to Capacity but i changed that to APTITUDE and both now fit with the P replacing the A
