Still puzzled by 6D.

Perch: old game show

Looks like RODEO (for SHOW). Presumably PERCH = ROD and OLD=O but why does GAME=E?

You're right. There is an old gambling game called E O, so it's ROD + E O.

I can't decide between CAPRICE and COPPICE for answer to 1A. My preference would be Caprice but argument for Coppice is good. It comes down to meaning of Carry on! Without a hyphen it is more likely to mean continue on rather than have a carry-on. Any ideas folks? Finished otherwise. Ta!
