Thanks, andyc! I was really stumped with the word 'slaver' as I was thinking slave driver or slave owner!!! I've never seen 'slaver' used for saliva.... maybe it's a US (me) versus UK (where I live) thing. We would say 'slobber' for drool.

We had a horrible expression when I was kid "slaver chops" ! A derogatory term for children that dribbled.

I know this crossword is ancient news by now but there was one solution that is still bugging me.

According to the surrounding solutions I'd already filled in, that gives me (if they're correct) E?C? O?H?R and all I can see when I look at that is 'each other'.

Help?
