Just two more to finish this crossword that is driving me nuts:

Hatchet-burying American Indian (5)
O - A - A

(Is there an AX in there, so O-AXA? Or is it something like OMAHA?)

Girl married in spring returned to area (6)

- A - E - A.

(Is married the letter M? Or is married WED? Is spring a SPA? Still can't work it out!)

might the second be PATENA? PAT is tap backwards ie spring returned. ENA-the girl obviously. "married"-just one following the other?! Patena is an area of grassland :)

Is there a delay in posts appearing here?

I'm wondering because I replied to helena with
T(OMAHA)WK but the post hasn't appeared yet.

quincy, thanks for PATENA; it could be that; the Solver database has it as an area in Ceylon.

Also thanks to for PAMELA; I thought of it but couldn't work it right with the clue.
