19 Down "Twisted about and fleeced"
- the answer seems to be "crooked" but
from the clue it would seem more
appropriate to just say "twisted"
although, I suppose you could say
"crook-ed" is twisted about. When it
comes to the other meaning, where
the pronunciation is still "crook-ed",
the clue implies that you are going to
fleece someone, or "crook" them!!!
Surely there is no verb "to crook"?

To Rook is to fleece or con

therefore rooked + C (Circa, about)
