Just this one remaining clue to complete the cryptic crossword:

CLUE:

Cruel man ignoring cry of pain(4).

I now have: ?E?T.

It's ironic that I have worked out all the harder ones and this one looks laughably easy, yet decoding the clue and getting the answer somehow still eludes me. Aaaaaaaagh... That's my cry of pain!

Would your answer be RENT as in Rent Man being cruel and in back of my mind rent is a type of cry??? Maybe I'm away out but it's just a thought?

Thanks, barns. Turns out that's a good one because following up your suggestion, I discovered that The Solver database gives one meaning as "to rant".
