Does anybody else pick wild mushrooms? I found some lovely little puffballs this afternoon on the golf course and I've just sliced and fried them in a little extra virgin olive oil with salt and pepper - fantastic. BTW if I don't post any more......

I don't see how you can confuse puff bals with anything else, ram, bler and they are delicious.
One of the tree srtumps I regularly trip over is absolutely covered in smallish orangy brown fungi- must be 100 of them. But I keep remembering the people who had to have/are awaiting kidney transplants and stick to ones you can't confuse. Like wood blewits or whatever the ones coloured pale lilac/blue are.
PS Got rid of an absolutley hUGE molehill in my garden with 2 applications of meths. No sight of them since, 10 days later.

Mushrooms make me really ill so they are to be avoided at all costs.

Only joking about the puff balls, rosalind, they are unmistakable. My favourites are ceps which also grow on parts of the golf course. However, when my daughter's family come to visit and there are mushrooms in the food she always says 'Dad hasn't picked the mushrooms, has he?' Waiting for next visit of Mr Mole's descendants.
