I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

Please withhold solutions till 5 pm (GMT + 1) to allow others to have a go.

I wonder it it is just me but I found your clues harder than usual and hope to be back around 5pm to check my answers!

I've got three (I think!) can't get 1 and 4.

On the run and checking in. I agree with Tony- they do look difficult. Only see 2 and 5 right off.

Thanks - only just got back in. 5 is unusually obvious (for you!), but no idea on thenothers yet.

Just to be different, I have 1 & 4 (both quite ingenious), and possibly 5 (but don't quite get it): it's 2 & 3 that fox me!

The "say" in 5 is a "sounds like"

My suggested answers-

2) SITTING DUCK - Helpless victim ... SITTING (hearing) DUCK (dive)

3) EXPOSURES - Revelations ...EX (exodus) RU
(Ruth) return in POSES (sets)

4) SANGFROID - Cool ...anag (drunk) SHEERNESS LOAD OF GIN less (leaving) ONES HEELS

5) LATENT - Hidden ...sounds like 'say' LAY (secular) TENT (accommodation)
